I don't know anything about that hotel, but the location is very convenient IMO. Whichever part of rue de Bac that is on, you are only a block or two from a metro stop and two different lines, one going N/S and one going E/W to St Germain, so you can't beat that; also, it's very near the Seine and central. A good shopping area, also.
Livia: Rue du Bac is a very nice street but not extremely lively street. Quiet upscale area. Some good bakeries/patisseries around. Close to Le Bon Marché, dept. store, which is very parisian. My favourite! Don't miss the food halls there. Just amazing.
Do walk the Rue St. Placide and Rue du Cherche-Midi. A LOT of small nice shoe-shops, boutiques and others around. From Rue du Bac, you cant walk to a lot of places or take public buses at Blvd. Raspail that take you everywhere. Have fun!
