CHEAP b&b's in the Czech Republic?

Greetings,

Looking for budget accomodations in Prague and Cesky Krumlov and ? one other of your favorite towns in the CZ Republic. 4 Adults. We're willing to use public transportation in order to reach the old Town. Mainly looking for clean, friendly & safe. Having a little neighborhood grocery & nearby restaurant are of course always a plus. Suggestions?

Try browsing the numersous listings on www.athos.cz - - you can even "chat live" (via ICQ) with an English-competent agent in Prague, on their website.

Best wishes,

Rex

I googled Czech B&Bs and found this site:

http://www.czechtourism.com/index.ph...001&lang=3

There were others that might be appropriate to your needs.

Hi Rex, I've seen a couple of your other post where you mentioned "chatting live via ICQ". If you have the time, could you explain what ICQ is all about? I e-mailed athos.cz regarding this feature and haven't heard back. Thanks for your help.

ICQ is a program similar to "Instant Messenger" (in fact, it predates both AOL and Yahoo IM) which alows any two people connected at the same time to "chat" (typing) in real time, just like a telephone conversation. You download it at www.icq.com

However, I now wonder if athos has stopped oferin it. They used to list a little table of agents, their icq numbers and their online status at the bottom of the screen, and I don't see that now. I guess I should stop citing this feature. I rented from them in May 2003.

When we visited Cesky Krumlov several years ago we stayed at this pension--na Louzi and really liked it. The location was great and so was the restaurant downstairs. However, the rooms are teeny. In fact, we would have stayed another night but they were full.

Thanks Julies!

Now that's what I'm talking about. That B&B looks perfect. Any other suggestions for Prague or other Czech towns?
