Changing from Ferrovienord to government railroad in Milan

We will be staying in Bellagio for a few days and then will be taking the train from Milan to Arezzo. The Ferrovienord train from Como terminates at Milano Cardona but our train to Arezzo leaves from Milano Centrale. Is there a train connection between these 2 lines? Should we just take a taxi? About how far apart are they? Thanks for any help you can give.

From Cadorna to Centrale is five stops on the Metropolitana (www.atm-mi.it) so it's too far to walk, but a simple journey, with no changes, on the metro.

Thanks, Geoff. I printed out the rail map from the site you listed. I see Bovisa but not Cardona. I assume we just stay on the train from Bovisa to Centrale? Or do we change trains at Bovisa?

Or from Como you could go to the Trenitalia mainline station and get a faster train right to Milano Centrale station.

Otherwise i believe you may be able to transfer somewhere and get to Centrale but not sure.

Have you considered taking the ferry from Bellagio over to Varenna and taking a train diretcly to Centrale from there?

As PalenQ mentions, there are two train stations in the city of Como--the station for Ferrovienord with trains to Milano Cadorno and the Trenitalia sation with trains to Centrale.

Alternately, you could ferry from Bellagio just across to Varenna and catch a train from there to Milano Centrale.
