Any suggestions on heels here for one night in October?
Also best form of transportation to Salzburg from CK?
And ideas for a couple of attractions/restaurants not to be missed?

Don't have any recommendation on hotels, but I think the bus is the best option to get there. One is run by Student Agency. The train station is farther away from the town, and is only a little shorter in time than the bus. And that's when it is direct, most runs require transfers.
You must know how small this place is, there aren't really a lot of attractions to see. There is the castle and gardens, of course, of prime interest. They have a small regional museum there, also, and a church, and of course, the town square.

Try to get tickets on an English tour of the baroque theater at the castle. One of the few remaining baroque theaters in the world. They only allow 20 people on each tour and only offer a few of English tours per day. Book in advance!

I stayed in the Hotel Konvice, which was attractive and comfortable. Did not eat in the restaurant, but breakfast was good. I was in room 12.

You can go by train if you don;t like buses - www.cd.cz , change Czech flag to UK flag for English.
You take the little branch line train to Ceske Budejovice (formerly Budweis, yes, where the name of the beer comes from!) change for a regional express to Linz for the fast Railjet to Salzburg.
All on one ticket for one cheap price if you pre-book at cd.cz. You print your own ticket.
