CDG to Hotel Suez - on Blvd. St. Michel

I am wondering how to take the RER from the airport to get to this hotel. Would it be easy or should I take the Roissy bus? This is not my first time to Paris but it has been awhile so I'm a bit rusty. I don't mind public transport and I don't want to pay for a taxi. Unless....roughly what would it cost to take a taxi for 3 people to the hotel? Thanks a bundle....

Taking the RER is just like getting on any other train. Your hotel is a block or so north of the station which is adjacent to the Luxembourg Gardens. There is a nice map on the hoteldesuez.fr website.

A taxi from CDG to the door would run €45-50.

The Roissybus is a non-starter because it deposits you much farther from your destination.

To take the RER, follow the signs to the RER station in Terminal 2. It is attached to the terminal and directly connects to all terminal buildings with the exception of 2A and 2B. If you are in one of those you can step outside and hop on a shuttle.

Purchase a ticket from the ticket counter. There is usually a line but it moves quickly. You will want the line to the left. The other line is for train tickets.

You can then board the RER. Check the overhead screen when you are down on the platform to see which leaves first as there may be two trains there at once. I recommend taking the express train that makes it's first stop at Gare du Nord. This way you dont have people boarding and exiting so it makes for a more peaceful ride. Exit at Saint Michele and go up to street level. From there you can either walk up blvd saint michel to your hotel or if you are really loaded down you can hop on one of the many buses (21, 38, 85) that goes up the blvd and ride it one stop to "Les Ecoles". The stop just be almost across from the hotel.

A taxi would cost from 45-60 euros depending on time of day / traffic.

Thank you! I thought the RER would be the way to go...I've just always taken the Roissy bus, because I've stayed in other areas. Getting excited...!

Cooncat, I think you should wait to ask for directions until you have actually settled on a hotel, don't you..?

Maybe the proximity to transport figures into cooncat's decision?
