I have flown out of CDG many times in the past 5 years, and the flights (all American) have never left late. And the same goes for flights to CDG (from Miami) - only one flight was late, due to mechanical problems. My flights usually arrive a little early, and getting out of immigration, getting baggage is always quite fast. The only problem I've had at CDG was connecting to a Air France flight to another city in France. I've been very happy that my FF miles are with American.

AF has discounted economy fare classes which earn less than 100% of actual mileage flown (either 50% or 25% depending on the exact fare class). See http://tinyurl.com/2c6lv8

I fly Delta/Air France regularly. Leaving on one tomorrow, in fact.
Departures are really not that far off...head winds or tail winds can make a difference!
The miserable part is having to land and take off in the middle of nowhere..up and down long, narrow steps on/off plane and taking the buses. Someday, perhaps they will be able to connect to a terminal!!
CDG is always at the top of the list for worst airports...
You just don't make connections that are too close and then just "go with the flow".........

Okay, I'll add my recent CDG experience to this thread.
Flew Paris-Los Angeles on Air Tahiti Nui (2A) on February 1st. The plane was parked in an outlying area and a bus was used. The flight left on time (11:30) and arrived at LAX more than one hour early.
Flew LAX-CDG on the same airline on February 12th. The plane left LAX 10 minutes early (!) (I suppose all the passengers were accounted for.) Arrived at CDG at 7 a.m. (30 minutes early) It was supposed to be parked in the boondocks, but instead we got hooked up to the terminal. I had 2 checked bags which arrived very quickly, and I was actually in a taxi by 7:25 a.m. (5 minutes earlier than the flight was even supposed to land!).
Life went to hell after that. Many of you know that I loathe taking a taxi from the airport, and we did indeed get stuck in the morning traffic jam for 30 minutes. I arrived at the northern Paris address at 8:10 a.m. and had to fork over 40 euros for the ride. I admit, however, that I would not have arrived home any faster by RER, only 4 times cheaper.
