My FIL got his $18 check last week. We did method #3, so our check should be for more money, but has not arrived yet.
Has anyone noticed that the check is really 1 small piece of paper, folded in half, and taped shut??? EASY to mistake for junk mail or get lost among the other bulk/junk mail advertisements, inside pages of catalogs, etc. And they were mailed out just before Christmas shopping begins, when the junk mail & catalog volume increases. Has anyone thought that this might be intentional - maybe with the idea that many checks will be "lost" - especially since most people (including my FIL) are not expecting the check? Heck - we "filed" many years ago!!!

Wow, I almost tossed this generic looking (junk mail impersonator) envelope in the trash. I'd forgotten about this lawsuit. My check was for $202. I lived overseas for three years and paid quite a bit in fees during that time. I'm happy with my $202 and it couldn't have come at a better time
