Castello di Oliveto, Castelfiorintono

Has anybody ever seen/stayed in their apartments?

Didn't stay in any apt. there, but stayed at an interesting and comfortable 3 star hotel called La Pieve in Castelfiorintono. They had a fabulous dinner menu but horrible breakfast. In 1999 in costs about $60.00 for 2 of us and had a beautiful view from our window.

We recently spent two nights at CastelBigozzi in Strove, near Monteriggioni. We had a double room with bath (and jacuzzi)in the castle, but they also have apartments. We'll go back one day and stay for a week. The facilities were awesome. No restaurant, but it was easy to travel to many places from this location. There was an internet deal for off-season. I see it is no longer on their website, but I'll bet once "the season" ends, it shows up again. www.chiantiturismo.it (I think!?)

Ingrid,

If you do check out La Pieve, be very casual...it's definately a small, family-run place. The ravioli and mushroom risotto were outstanding.

Thanks for both your advice. With two kids we're only going to casual places. I chekced out Castel Bigozzi. They did have a special for the end of June (we'll be there 2 days later), but I'll keep my eyes open for another special. Thanks!
