Card problem buying Swiss Travel Pass

Leaving Friday for two weeks in Switzerland, have all lodging etc. but tried to buy our 8-day flex passes tonight...went through all steps, checked out...used a VISA United card, all info OK, will not process payment. Says "Check Card Details" I call VISA, they have no record of anyone even trying to process a payment tonight. Time getting a bit short...any 800-number or in person help available from SBB? Thanks.

Did you try setting up a Swiss Pass account and then signing in? or were you purchasing as a guest?

If you're arriving in Switzerland at a town with a station, can't you buy at the station? That's what we did but it was some time ago so things might have changed (we had to present passports as id).

We installed the app and it asks us for a customer number, which we have no idea what or where to locate it...in a dead end loop of questions and no answers...if we can buy them on arrival we will. Too baffling.

Did you set up an account with SBB? Just installing the app won't do it. When you set up an account it will ask for your credit card number and you go from there.

The SBB app is a wonderful thing, but you need an account.
,
Go to SBB, hit sign in on upper right of screen and it will take you to a page where you can register for an account.

FWIW, yes you can purchase from a manned ticket office upon arrival.

Go to the SBB home page.. When you click "Sign in" at the top of the screen, there's a place in the red box to click "No customer account? Register now."

Got to the point of confirming identity..have my phone, camera, and passport ready....it says insert your phone number in a certain format. I put in:
+14 02 740 54 77

Hit send....it says can't do it, try later. Sigh.
