janisj Can you please stop being so negative to information posted here?
http://www.getreading.co.uk/all-abou...fic-and-travel see Reading is no way as bad as you you think, certainly 100% better than central London.

Not negative -- Hopefully helpful. Sure it is better than central London -- anyone would know that.

As for Enterprise -- it is always a good option since they will normally pick you up. But one reason I seldom use them in the UK is because they usually have massive drop off fees. If one is collecting and dropping at the same location they are good.

Sometimes it seems like it's your way or the highway -respect what others say too -not me of course but locals and others who post alternatives to Heathrow above.

General rule of thumb, not applicable to Heathrow, for any off-airport location always check on Sunday opening hours.

I found Avis near Oxford station a perfectly simple location for getting out of town. Maybe insistence otherwise says more about a driver than a location. Since the OP will not be visiting Oxford this trip, it's moot. However, it is an easy walk from the center of town, very close to the station, for future reference.

PQ -- have you actually driven in Reading? It has generally horrible traffic.>

Nope - I assume that you have driven there a lot to generalize so I take it that you are right, as you usually are!

Cheers?

There is a great propensity on this forum for posters to continue to argue their point of view even after the OP has already stated what they plan to do. Pointless.

My feeling is threads are not the OP's alone. And on Fodor's as in life, "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change..."
