Thanks all for the information. I have another question to ask. I made a reservation with Hilton Hotel Prague which overlooks Vltava river and is close to the old town. But they are asking for 44 USD per night for parking a car. That's way too much!
Does anyone have experience using P+R in Prague? I found the following link but I am not sure whether I can park consecutive multiple days.

I just returned from Prague but was driving my own car.
You should take into consideration the parking lot and costs involved to keep the car safe in an underground parking which might easily add another 15 - 20 €/24 hrs.
Driving in Prague is not a problem - but traffic is immense.
By the way - we did not enjoy our visit to Prague (comming from Dresden and just adding it on)and don't think of returning. The tourists were in the thousands pushing each other thru the old quarter.
And it's expensive - compared to Dresden, Cologne etc.
