Car Rental In Venice
We are renting a car in Venice for 8 days. Will pick it up at Pazzale Roma. We will drive to Cinque Terre and then explore Tuscany with a final drop off at FCO. We have quotes from Beneluxcar for Avis and Europe Car. Should we get the extra insurance? Would appreciate any other tips from folks who have rented in Italy - pros and cons. Thanks!

The Cinque Terra is particularly car friendly. The preferred methods of getting to the villages and between them is the train and the boats. You may want to take the train there and pick up the car for Tuscany in maybe La Spezia.

Assume that you mean you'll be spending time in Venice and THEN when you leave, you'll pick up your rent car? You do know the only way to get around in Venice is by boat or by foot.
As for the CT, as the above poster said, you'll not have much use for a car if you're staying in one of the Cinque Terre villages. However, perhaps you're basing in one of the surrounding towns, like Portovenere?
