If I want to rent a car at the end of several days in Paris and use it to drive to Bruges, where would you suggest picking up the car so that we do not have to drive IN Paris? There are options at airports and train stations but I'm not sure which is the best area. Thanks.

Are you planning to leave the car in Belgium?

If so, will have a large drop off fee.

If you are planning to drive back to Paris, perhaps you could train to Lille-Flandres, get the car there and return it near Paris.

We are actually planning to pick up the car in Paris and then leave it in Calais to go back to London. I'm needing to know what is the best place on the north side of Paris to pick up the car and then drive north to Bruges.

It might be best to pick it up on the west side of Paris, at the Porte Maillot. CDG might be easier, but count on an airport fee that can be the equivalent of one day's rental cost.

145 Avenue de Malakoff is just south of Porte Maillot. Metro: Porte Maillot. RER: Nueilly-Porte Maillot-Palais de Congres.

Farther west:
1. 225 Rue de la Garenne. Close to RER: Nanterre-Prefecture.
2. 100 Boulevard Francois Arago. RER: Nanterre-Prefecture or Nanterre-Universite.
