You should at least have dinner or lunch at La Tagliata which is in Montepertuso. The toodle bus stops right in front of it.

Definitely go to La Tagliata. Some of the restaurants in Montepertuso will arrange round trip transfers from your hotel in Positano. Check if this is one of them.
Also- since you said that your friend has some mobility issues, I would strongly recommend that you book a hotel/B&B closer to ground level, meaning near the center of town or beach. You won't have the same aerial views that you get higher up from town, but you also won't have a lot of back and forth "climbing" to do.
Some of the hotels that are closer to town or on the beach: Palazzo Murat, Buca Di Baco, Covo dei Sarceni, and a fantastic B&B that I might spell wrong: Flavio Gioa? I will check my files and repost correct name.

I would like to book one of the Two of the B&B's in Positano;
Casa Celeste or Villa Maria Antonietta. Does anyone know anything about these places? Is one location better than the other? The other concern is the booking on Capri, which is the B&B La Musa.

Steve31,
I am pretty sure that Casa Celeste is quite a distance from the center of town and Positano's beach. I think we passed this B&B on our way into Positano and it is at the top of Via Pasitea, where it intersects with the road to Fornillo Beach. IF I am right, you're easily in for a 20 minute& downhill walk to town in an area that already has very limited sidewalks and lots of traffic. I would not book this unless the hotel offers free transfers into town, and even then, you would be dependent on their schedule.

It does it all:
http://www.campaniartecard.it/
As the site says:
The card that gives you access to art and culture sites in Naples and throughout the Campania region (museums, archaeology, contemporary works, places of sacred art, underground tours and theatres) and use of the Unicocampania public transport system.
Plus: admission without queuing, special events, discounts and benefits.
All this in just one card!
The card that lets you discover the wonders of the Campania region: from Naples to the Campi Flegrei, from Pompeii to Caserta and Paestum.

Public transportation is not a problem, especially if you opt for a facility that provides transportation for its customers to visit the surroundings, how to organize the transfer stations and the airports have services and shuttle bus to reach neighboring towns . Even the Villa Oriana is a family run bed & breakfast in Sorrento http://www.villaoriana.it with a very ... warm hospitality. They offer its guests the family yacht to visit the coast. Forget the bus

Naples is amazing!
A nice hotel not expensive is the Piazza Bellini in via Costantinopoli
don't miss the Archaeological Museum, the wonderful Sansevero Chapel, San Martino and the underground ruins. If you need an excellent guide try vesuvius vs pompeii
A good well-located b&b in Positano is the Mammola

Steve, if I remember correctly, there is no ferry from Naples to Positano. There is a ferry from Sorrento to Positano (Alicost) but with only 2 runs a day. That is why I always hire a driver to get us from NAP to our apartment in Pos.

I agree jameshooks2, Naples is amazing! Thank you for all the great suggestions. I do want to do an underground ruins tour in Naples, but I'm not sure which one. Ekc, thank you for the information on the ferry. Also, thank you for your suggestions loumartinez.

Hopefully the new place is near the lower SITA bus stop.
