It's a beach resort with a lot of naturist camps and hotels.

Correction: with ONE naturist camp (campsite, apartments, hotel) along a private beach, separated from the public beach by a canal.
Furthermore Cap d'Agde is a very family-friendly resort that has some nice public beaches, and it's well located to visit the Camargue, the old fisherman's town of Sète, Béziers and Montpellier, and not to forget the city of Agde itself. We have spent many lovely holidays in Cap d'Agde.

Hi, Marion, cathing up on my reading after being an invalid for over a month, and I read and saw the photos of Cap d'Agde. What beautiful beaches to see after the Cote D'Azur where the beaches are all covered with stones.

Wow! That's interesting about it being only one resort. I didn't know that, but I did some research and you're right. It appears to be enormous!

It is a very large resort indeed, StCirq. A village on its own. With supermarkets, restaurants, hair salons, fine bakeries, butchers, ... you name it. It's all there. We've been there a few times in our younger days when our son was still a toddler. It's very family-friendly, as is the rest of Cap d'Agde.

Cigale ... those are indeed fabulous, SANDY beaches!!
BTW, my name is Myriam, not Marion!

If somebody doesn't know about a place why do they post a reply as if they do? And short, snappy and full of spurious authority?

We've been there and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's strictly a tourist-type resort area, complete with casino, but it has never seemed overcrowded and (as already noted) has some nice beaches. There are also quite a few hotels in all categories. The location and the topography make it somewhat isolated and perhaps a bit less well known to the average tourist (except the French, who seem to know it well). We stayed in the Hotel du Golf, which was quite near the casino on a little island in the middle of the lagoon.

why? because people like to try to be helpful. at the very least, a response tops the message.
