Can't find train schedule to Florence??!

I'm trying to find a train schedule from
Rome to Florence. The official Italian web sight
isn't loading and the other sights don't show
a schedule, only cost. Does anyone know
where I can find a schedule? Thank you.

Cathy,

If using www.trenitalia.com, you shall type "roma" and not "rome" and "firenze" and not "florence", otherwise, the software won't recognize the words.

Regards,

Surlok

Cathy,

Try "mercurio.iet.unipi.it". This site has all the European railroad time tables listed. Ignore them all and go to the Swiss SBB timetable. This will give you schedules for any train in any country going to any other country. It's amazing! Just put in Rome to Freinze (Florence) and you will get 4 possible schedules, if you don't like those, just ask for more. Happy travels. Greg

First, get off of Netscape and try another search engine. FYI. You don't need a schedule. The Eurostar leaves from Rome to Florence about every 30 minutes from about 6 AM until after 9PM. It's like a commuter train. You won't need a much advance reservation. You can walk into any tourist office in Rome and get tickets and reservations up to an hour or so before train time. They are connected via computer to the rail system. They do not charge anything for this service. You can book in advance on the net but this is considerably more expensive and totally unnecessary.

Cathy - The present timetable on trenitalia.it is only valid until 26.1.02, - but the times are unlikely to change much, if at all.

As Gerry says, it's a frequent service.
Are you typing in 'Roma' and 'Firenze' as Surlok says? I've just tried it again and it's working fine.

Let me know if I can be of more help ...

Steve

The Italian rail site will take both Rome and Roma etc... I just tested it.

One more thought. Both the Swiss and German national railway web sites have Italian rail schedules, too. And both are easier to navigate (to me) than the official Italian site.
