Not sure what you mean. We took a great 3hr canal ride from in front of the D'Orsay up to a modern park complete with imax theatre whose name escapes me. The ride was lovely and the british guide who played the clarinet was a treat. We munched on baguettes purchased a few blocks from the D'orsay.

Are you speaking of the Canal St.Martin? There are also Seine River cruises to towns near Paris.

Parc de la Villette is the park. Canauxrama runs one Canal St- Martin cruise, 01-42-39-15-00. There is also an all day cruise, embarking from the Bassin de la Villette, Canal de l'Ourcq, that stops at at small NE village, Claye-Souilly. Paris Canal Company, 01-42-40-96-97, runs a cruise through the canal, into the Seine and to the d'Orsay. Reservations are required. Good weather helps.

We took the Canauxrama tour along the Canal St-Martin (http://www.canauxrama.com/hten/) from Parc de le Villette to Musee d'Orsay (in the morning, the route is the reverse) last June. A really fabulous way to spend a beautiful afternoon in Paris. The boat traveled under the Bastille (well, Place de la Bastille)! You can reserve on line. You can easily reach the dock at Parc de la Villette by bus or metro.

The canal St Martin cruise doesn't run in the winter though.
