Can you sleep on the plane over and back?

nancicita,
Have ever tried those inflatable pillows that hook around your neck? They work for me. Not that I fall asleep with it, but it does support my head, at least. It also helps not to doze off on my neighbor's shoulders...

Ever since I discovered Ambien the flights are just a dream. I take one right after I get on the place and am usually out until breakfast. It is also great because I can stay awake a lot easier on that first full day in Europe. Now I never fly overseas without it!

I take a xanax or klonopin before boarding, calms me down (I'm not nervous about flying, usually just restless because I'm excited for the trip LOL). I rarely sleep though.
The one time I DID sleep on a transatlantic flight was when I was flying first class from JFK-LHR. I was a flight attendant at the time taking advantage of my flight benefits, which is why I was in first class!
I fell asleep, woke up a couple of hours later, ran to the bathroom and vomited. I immediately started crying, because "I'm a flight attendant, how can I be airsick????!" LOL! I was a mess, it was hilarious. I had some carbonated soda which helped a lot.
So now.. I don't force the issue, but if I sleep even an hour I'm happy.
