Robespierre, I read it and evidently I don't understand it because I still can't figure out how to do pound. What do you mean by universal escape sequence?

Areala, if you mean Word that runs on Windows, I live in a house with three Macs, but no Windows, so I can't help you there.

In Word for a Mac, press the option key, the shift key, and the number 2 at the same time: €.

Like Areala I cannot get the euro symbol. I see it on my keyboard. It is on the %/5 key to the right of the 5. Bit I can't get it to appear. Euro symbol is not among the symbols on my character map.

I'd like to help you with € but mine is on the E key and I just have to press "alt Gr" with E to have it. have you tried the "Alt Gr" key?

Hi. I apologize for interrupting, but all of a sudden my mouse isn't working on my desktop. I've checked the connections. Is it possible to navigate without mouse? Can you recommend a help website for assistance? Thanks so much. J.

Reference to the Euro Symbol:
If using windows:
Hold down the ALT key while entering 0128 from the numerical keypad.

The way to make a Euro symbol that will always render correctly in HTML is

€

If you use a keyboard shortcut, it may or may not come out right on everyone else's computer.

Pound is

£

Oh, I get it now, the semi-colon is part of the symbol, not part of the sentence.

testing €

OK, I got the hold alt key and type 0128 from numeric pad and that worked:

However the € does not work. Do I hold something else down with it. Also notice my & is different than yours.

Hey look at my last post. After I sent it, it came out correct but it didn't do that until I posted. I didn't see the euro sign until then. Weird
