Can we find a cheap flight from Florence to Salzburg?

Can anyone tell us where to look for a flight from Florence (or somewhere else close) to Salzburg? I am not familiar with the European airlines for this sort of thing. I am thinking it would be better than the train????

Any thoughts?

I used kayak.com and found an Austria Air flight to Salzburg, although it certainly is't cheap at $400 per person. Whichbudget.com may yield some cheaper results.

You need to fly from Rome. There are no cheapos from Tuscany or Emilia-Romagna to Salzburg. In fact, there are virtually no cheapos from Florence, and few from Pisa (the main low-cost airport for Tuscany) to anywhere in Austria.

Another option would be to fly from Florence to Munich - I did see a flight on kayak.com for under $200, but you are still a few hours away from Salzburg and would need to spend additional funds to get there.

Most airlines (esp. cheap ones) fly between major hubs, not between a smallish airport (Florence) and a tiny airport (Salzburg).
Rome to Munich is more probable, or even Florence to Munich, but then you have to add 3 h train journey from Munich airport to Salzburg.

Munich to Salzburg is a quick 90 minute train ride and easy to do.
