Can we bring food on the plane?
I was wondering, with the new airline restrictions with liquids, are we still able to bring food on the plane? I wanted to bring some French pastries back but wasn't sure if it's allowed.

Called Southwest today because we're on the way to Switzerland in the morn. We asked about lunchmeat, cheese, celery & carrot stix. They said that was fine, just no dressing to go with em, (liquid). Don't know about over seas flights, better check with your carriers.

Not exactly what you are asking - - but on the subject of foodstuffs and liquids, I understand that _frozen_ water is prohibited, the same as liquid water.
In the specific case I read about, it was regarding the transport of live lobsters from Boston, and the prohibition of packed ice to keep them cold. The lunatics really are running the asylum.
But ingenuity came to the rescue. The lobster sellers bought up bags and bags of frozen peas and substituted those for the ice packs and TSA allowed this.
No word on whether peashooters were confiscated.

Best wishes,
Rex
