I stayed in Chassagne which is described as having twin beds and when we arrived it was a queen. Our daughters preferred the twins so PP came back and separated them and put on proper linens. That is a very nice large apartment which sleeps 5 and is in an excellent location.

I'd be afraid to be without AC in June....had friends in Paris in May when the temperature was 98.

I'd rule out St Estephe as it only has one toilet and no AC. The others all look nice. We did stay in the same building as Sauternes. The balcony must face the courtyard.

Beaumes de Venise
St Estephe
Bordeaux
Romanee and the Fronsac has twins that an easily be put together.

I would NOT assume that you could pul all rwins together as someone mentioned earlier....

I saw the Chassagne but I have to keep the budget in line

Your thoughts specifically on Rully?

I know this doesn't answer your question, but we stayed in PVA (Paris Vacation Apartments) apartment at Palais Royal. We actually didn't make up the bed in the living room - instead it was such a deep couch that with a blanket and pillow, the kid was content to sleep there.

Fits the requirement for 2 baths - nice sized living room, wireless included. Also, we loved being on Palais Royal and every night letting the kids run in the gardens, or jump on the black and white columns, or just be kids.

lol - whenever I've been looking for twins I've found doubles and vice versa.

c'est la vie.

have you thought about widening your search to other companies?

I would ask about the AC...perhaps it is just in the living area, though it doesn't sound as important to you as it is to me. It looks like it meets all of your requirements though I didn't see the square footage listed.

Have you asked about price reduction for a longer stay?

Thanks Surfmom

I have looked into PVA and still looking at them but not a fan of staying in that particular area

Have not heard back from my morning call to PP but will ask all the pertinent questions when they call

tripgirl, we've stayed in the same apartment as Surfmom. I did not think I'd like the area but have booked 2 weeks next spring very close by as we really enjoyed our stay there.

It always seems like such a difficult choice!! We've enjoyed all of the ares we've rented in, some more than others. You'll be relieved, I'm sure to make your decision and move on with planning this year's trip.

tripgirl, we stayed upstairs from surfmom in the three bedroom. It's also a great area for first timers because of it's convenient location. Every night we came home from the Seine through the Louvre courtyard and to the Palais Royal.

I found the location much better than anything I had read here, where most people don't recommend the area. It's a short (fabulous) walk to the 6th, and you're right near the #1 metro line and close to shops and a Monoprix.

I'd stay there again in a minute. PVA is a terrific agency, and certainly at least on par with the other agencies you're considering.

I am not sure that this really answers your question but we have traveled with this kids aerobed for our 4 year old -

and she LOVES it. Even wants to sleep in it at home. It is a little bulky but not bad. Comes with a fleece sheet so you just need a light blanket. I would just make sure you have a converter/adapter for the inflater plug.

Tripgirl, I don't "get" why you are limiting your enquiries to Paris Perfect, esp'lly as it is for a trip NEXT yr. NO rush. There are many 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apt rentals in Paris. Surely one is just as likely as a PP apt to suit your needs??

Hi again, Tripgirl. What about THIS one, also from PVA (but listed on the Homeaway website) . It is right by the Seine in the 6th 9which i think is a grat area for visitors) it's large, 2 bedrooms (both King size beds) 2 full baths, and convertible sofa for the 5 yr old.

Good luck!

here are more photos of it. The sofa may not be convertible (did i imagine reading that?) but would the 5 yr old be ok on the sofa either way?

IMHO it is VERY important to have somewhere that small children can have a proper day-time nap especially when they are on holiday; it will be better for her and much better for you if she is well-rested.

i would want her to have her own room where she can sleep; this will be better at night too when she goes to bed and you want to eat, talk, watch TV etc.

annhig has an excellent point. If you give up your living room space for a child there is nowhere for the adults to sit together after the 5 yr old's bedtime. Same situation if someone happens to be an early riser.

Even if she naps in the parent's bed, this issue would be a problem for me......sort of gives up the reason for having the apartment if you can't use the common space all the time.

What's nice about the apartment in CaliNurse's link is that it has a separate dining room and it looks as though there's a door to the living room so the adults could socialize at the table and the child would only be disturbed when his/her parents went through the living room to their bedroom.

Agree that otherwise it could be awkward.

I agree that the benefit of having a separate room is to put kids to bed, to nap, etc. Our kids gave up napping about age 3. Trust me, I was sad when that happened.

We've been lucky in that we always put kids to bed in the guest room and our room ... when we are ready to go to bed, we pick them up and move them into the living room. Since they arise before we do (I look forward to the day that is reversed!), it hasn't been a problem in the mornings. Once my kids are asleep, I could drive a truck through their room and they'd sleep through it. Heck, I take them to the bathroom in the middle of the night and they don't remember!

Since we have 3 kids, a 3-bedroom apartment is not an option. Well, it is an option, I'm just too cheap! For us, this method has worked very well -

You are all so kind and thoughtful!!

After all that; the couple with the child can't come! Oh well, now no restrictions!

They reaaaaaaaallllly wanted to go, just have some other family obligations next yr and couldnt make all the numbers work

But our other friends I think are still in and my niece might come one of the weeks so I might just go back to the Gloriosa, love that apt

If all bail, it's no worry. As Judy knows, I've researched to the hilt 1bdm apts and so have all my ducks in order with plan a and plan b

Again, thank you all for wonderful advice
