Can both of these be seen in one day?
I will be leaving for Stuttgart in a few days and have another question. Now that I have narrowed things down a bit, I need an idea if it is reasonable to see both of these places in one day...
Will be based in Stuttgart and plan to wake up and head to see Hohenzollern in the mid morning. I would also like to visit Lichtenstein on the same day. We will more than likely be going via train. We will need to return back to Stuttgart for sleeping that night.
1. Given travel time and allowing for enough time to visit each place without being rushed, is this reasonable for one day?
2. If it is reasonable, then in what order should they be seen?
3. Also, will there be extra time for anything else do you think?
Thanks to all!

Forget about Lichtenstein. It is about 260km south of Stuttgart. To check trains go to http://bahn.de

Thanks but now I am a bit confused. From my research I thought that Castle Lichtenstein is located in the town of Reutlingen which is only about 25 miles from Stuttgart... is this not correct? Can someone please confirm this for me? Thanks again to all!! Still wondering how long travel time actually is between these areas since I am not sure of the best route or how slow travel is (also the main reason I ask if they are all possible to see in onde day is because not sure how long I will need to spend at each place)

Treplow must have thought you were talking about the country of Liechtenstein.
Reutlingen is about 35 minutes from Stuttgart on the fastest trains. Hechingen (the closest station to Hohenzollern) is another 30 minutes or so beyond Reutlingen. From Hechingen back to Stuttgart would be a little over an hour. I don't suppose it matters which you see first.
You might be looking at spending the morning at one castle and the afternoon at the other. It would seem to me to be doable.
