Can anyone suggest Food books for Tuscany ?

So far I have Florence the food lovers guide by Emily Wise Miller and The food and wine Lover's companion to Tuscany. Can anyone suggest which of these is more widely recognized? Have any others you would suggest?

Sarah, there are many cookbooks on Tuscany. Go to google and choose books and type in Tuscany.
I like "Simple Tuscan" by Pino Luango.

Thanks Cigalechanta I can find them. I just want to know if anyone can suggest one. Or if book someone might know about stands above others.

If you want a book about where to eat in Tuscany, check out Lazy Days Out in Tuscany, part of the Cadogan series. It describes great places to eat and sights in the area. We've tried most of the recommendations and enjoyed them.

I just heard yesterday about a food and Italy book by Fred Plotkin. Haven't read it yet, but it sounded great.

I've enjoyed "The HIlls of Tuscany: A New Life in an Old Land" by Ferenc Mate and "The Tuscan Year: Life and Food inan Italian Valley," by Elizabeth Romer.

Frances' Mayes' books also frequently touch on the topic of food.

Isn't that the area that Marcella Hazan cooks in and writes about? Check her out on amazon.

My all time favorite book on this is Eating In Italy by Faith Heller Willinger. It does cover Tuscany and also most of Northern Italy. It has always served me well in selecting a restaurant, deli, gelato, ect...also includes a few hotels, stores to buy food, factories that have tours...it's very well researched.

Although not limited to Tuscany, gelato is considered one of the necessary food groups to many.

After a 3 month backorder, I just got a great Gelato book from Amazon.

The book offers recipes for stracciatella and others along with a history of gelato.

Guess what I'll be making.

Gelato!: Italian Ice Cream, Sorbetti & Granite

Sarah, I don't know about a guide book; guess it would be on Amazon, too. A friend of mine took classes from MH several yrs. ago.; that's my knowledge of her.

I'm not positive, but I think Marcella Hazan is originally from the Veneto region (or maybe Emilia-Romagna, but I think Veneto).

Iced confections (granite, gelati) spread to the rest of Italy from SICILY, so they're not especially Tuscan.
