Let's face it: The travel channel is really the discovery channel. They play the same stuff that is on every other cable channel, but recycle it by putting the term "vacation" or "travel" in the title (Incredible "vacation" vides; Incredible "vacation" homes; etc. It would not surprise me for a minute if they started airing Fantasy Island and the Love Boat (they are about vacations aren't they?!). I'm waiting for the Brady Bunch reruns (remember, they took a vacation once or twice).

Does that mean that I can finally find all of my favorite Gilligan's Island reruns there?

Diane: Gilligan's Island? Of course! It involves an island and travel, so it is a travel show. (They'll probably re-name it as "Incredible" Gilligan's Island, "Romantic" Gilligan's Island, or "Hidden" Gilligan's Island, though.

I can't even remember the last time I saw a Lonely Planet episode on there.

I miss Lonely Planet. I think it's on at 2pm or something. I personally am sick of haunted houses and girls in bikinis - I want to see Amazing Destinations not "World's Sexiest Beaches" - gag me! <BR>Audrey

So will a few discontented travelers make them change their evil corporate ways, or do we have to threaten a boycott of their sponsors to get some real change???

If anyone here gets the Discovery Civilization channel they have put all the good old Travel channel shows on it. I get this channel on Time Warner digital cable and love to watch all the old Lonely Planet, Amazing Destinations, Travelers, Exotic Islands, Walkers World etc. It's about the only channel I watch when I want a travel fix.
