Hello! My fiance and I are trying to decide whether to go to Paris in March or April (of this year). We can't go in May or after because of other plans. Amazingly enough, there are flights and hotel rooms still open. Anyone with any opinions or advice regarding rain, temperature, etc... please inform! It's his first time to Paris and might as well be mine: I haven't been in ten years!

I've only been in August and September, so I'm no expert, but let me put it this way: There's no song called "March in Paris"!

My first trip to Paris was the end of March.It was sunny in the 50's windy and beautiful.I have since been in the fall and winter, and believe me, it does not matter about the weather, Paris is wonderful anytime of the year...except perhaps the worst time of summer,August, heat,humid and no a/c can ruin any trip! So-go go go~~~

Another reason... Daylight savings time. More daylight hours.

Hmm. April in Paris started out May in Paris, but it didn't quite fit the music, so it got changed to April.<BR>April in Paris can be cool, wet, and rainy. That was my introduction to it, and I had such a miserable time that I did not go back for 40 years.<BR>Now that I have returned, I find that Paris in September is another place.<BR>If you must go within the times you specify, go in late April. <BR><BR>At any time in Paris, be prepared for rain, even September. <BR><BR>

I think Grasshopper has been sucking on dandelion wine again. How does daylight savings time create more daylight? It just shifts the clock.<BR><BR>

We are arriving next week and hope for the best. You never know. We usually do Paris in late April or early May. June can be very hot and humid. Paris is best for long walks after a great lunch or dinner; for us that means under 70 weather. Try for late April. Parisians seem to be the most "up" in the spring and the flowers and trees are indeed quite beautiful then. Good luck to us!

We've been many times in mid-April and it has always been sunny and pleasant. Occasionally a shower at night, but I swear it's never gushed rain on us while out and about. Now I've been there in March and Sept. and got soaked. It's a crap shoot - just go and be prepared for rain just in case. I like April because the flowers and trees are blooming and it is neither too hot or too cold. The one March we went we about froze to death, of course I've also been there in Dec. and hit a very mild week .. go figure!!

yeah, anything can happen but I would go in April if you can choose either -- the temps will be a little warmer and I can about daylight savings, also (which is end of March). It rains a little more in April than March on average but both months are drier than the Summer, Fall or Winter, on average (in fact, I have a chart which shows March and April as the two driest months of the year as far as accumulated precipitation, and same as most other months in terms of number of days with some wetness (most months have 12-13 days with some precipitation, Nov-Feb have more).

Hello Lizzie,<BR><BR>I guess that you can never depend on or predict the weather, especially weeks in advance.<BR><BR>We've been to Paris in March the last two years and will be returning on the 26th this year. The weather for the most part has been very nice, fair amount of sun and temps in the 50's even the 60's. <BR><BR>Last year they had solid rain and much flooding all over the north part of France most of April and into May for 6 straight weeks. I think it was the most precipitation since the late 1800's. <BR><BR>This year already looks a little wet, but hopefully it will be nothing like last year.<BR><BR>Actually Paris is wonderful in the rain. Probably the least appealing time to be in Paris is in July & August when it is hot and packed with tourists.<BR><BR>Have a great trip, and I hope that the weather cooperates.<BR><BR>Ciao,<BR><BR>RJS

I've been to Paris every month except for June, July, and August. I was just there last week and the weather was blue skies, sunny, perfect "sweater weather." My fleece was fine. I've visited in April when it's rainy and cloudy. In other words, does the weather really matter when you're in Paris??? You're in Paris after all! It's still spectacular, right?
