How many people have voted so far.
I didn't because my vote would have been neither. Then someone alerted me to the confusion in the querie. I am an American Traveller who would love to visit other beaches in Europe. I am from European dissent. Does that make me eligible to vote?

"I am from European dissent."
Dissent characterizes the nature of the opinionated posters on this message board. When you ask for opinions, be prepared for opinions criticizing the question itself. That's our idea of fun.

Hey Amy, good luck getting this group to agree on anything! I believe DH and I spied a woman on the Mykonos beach-she shouldn't have been!
Maybe Fodors is trying to appeal to a younger demographic. While we're all talking about skin cancer!

Oh, I forgot my answer...either beach is fine. I live in Florida so our beaches go from mudflats to sugar sand to mostly dredged up ocean bottom.
As far as nudity, hey when you've seen one obese, pasty white tourist in a speedo quickly turning lobster red...well it just doesn't matter.

Well, it was 36 years ago but I didn't see anyone on Paradise Beach who shouldn't have been there! Nothing but young and gorgeous.
Mykonos was our first stop on our four month tour of Europe and as 18 year olds away from home for the first time it was both an eye opener and a rocking good time!

Since I just returned from having yet another basal cell skin cancer cut out of my fact, I vote for neither. Beaches and tanning are unwise.
I believe this is #10 just on my face alone. In all fairness I have to admit that some of these basal cells are probably the result of radiation I had in the 50's, but still...some are on my back, where I don't recall having radiation.

<<fun for everyone to vote on and debate, even people who might never have visited the locations.>>
Well, Amy, this isn't meant to disparage any part you may have had in this idea, but how does one debate if one hasn't been there? Or have what could be considered a valid vote?
Sincere question. If the answer is folks google them both and decide based on pictures, or say their aunt went to that beach in 1960, or they heard this or that from friends, doesn't that kind of dilute Fodor's content to the point where it's not up to par with the rest of the site? People here aren't generally known for talking about places they've never been. In fact, quite a few people get nailed for doing exactly that, or having been somewhere 20 years ago.
Maybe it's a good idea, and this is just a bad example, but I'm not sure I get it. Seems like only a very few people could answer a question like this with any authority, and if it's just random votes, not sure I get the point.
Oh well. Have fun with it.

I think I must be one of the few Fodorites, other than raincitygirl, and St. Cirq who have been to Paradise Beach. At least it might have been Paradise Beach, as I hardly had time to find out.
It was many years ago, and I had the sails down on our ketch as I motored toward a beach on Mykonos, looking for a place to drop anchor for the night. All four of the kids were on deck helping Daddy look for a good place close to the beach so they could row ashore and play in the sand.
As we got close, a number of the bathers, came swimming out to greet the boat; most of them female, as became very apparent as they got close. I stopped the motor and drifted, as I was afraid of chopping up all that exposed flesh with the prop. The were laughing and waving to us.
One of the twins shouted from the bow, "Daddy, why are all those ladies naked"? That brought my wife up from below to spoil all the fun. She said my eyes were standing out on stalks so she was tempted to knock them off with a stick, and made me move the boat way down to another, more staid, cove.
For one glorious moment, I knew what Capitan Cook must have felt when he first pulled into Tahiti.

Amy,
I can appreciate what you are trying to do. My favorite beach in Europe for people watching was in Almafi, Italy. If you were allowed to scrap this question and modify it to best G-rated story on a beautiful beach anywhere, you could get some great stories for family viewing! For me, best beach anywhere is Seacliff Beach in Santa Cruz, California. Great for people watching, whale watching, picnicing, camping, visits to the big cement boat.

Funny, nukesafe. I have such vivid memories of pulling into Paradise beach because as the small boat we were on headed to shore it was apparent that there was a woman lying spreadeagle on the exact spot on the shore the boat was going to land (maybe there are docks now? Just beach back then). We literally pulled straight into the V her open legs were forming.Maybe the captain did it as a joke, but the two guys I was with at the time (and I and my girlfriend)were totally in shock and laughed about it for years afterwards. In fact, said girlfriend and I remembered it and howled over it a couple of weeks ago when she was in town visiting.
