Call In Europe Update -- I need SIM service
In 2008 and 2009 Call In Europe was the answer to my needs. I live in the US and my wife and I have managed to get to France for 3 week vacations the last few years.
I had written in the forum that Call In Europe was great. And they were great, at $60/year fee, with that $60 credited against usage. They changed their billing policy and now it is $20/3months, with NO Credit allowed against minutes used. That more thab doubles the price based on what our traditional usage has been. (Each year our charges were in the $50-60 range for the 3 weeks - so in effect we owed nothing else, or precious little).
So I am in the market for a new Company to provide a low cost SIM card and low cost roaming... so that I can receive and make calls in France and Italy for a reasonable price.
Haves seen TravelSim and Easyroam mentioned in the forums recently. What has been your experience. Any other recommendations?
Thanks in advance
Steve

I have an unlocked quad-band phone, but would like convenience of knowing my telephone number before I leave. Also my language skills are lacking, and would like to be able to get help/support in English.
Will check out brightroam, thanks.

We have used Roam Simple and found them to be helpful and efficient:

We will most likely use their Europe SIM card when we are in Italy (2 weeks) and France (4 weeks) this Spring. We use the phones mostly to keep in touch with each other, as needed, when we do separate things and to call restaurants, etc. when we are not near a free (e.g., in the apartment) phone--if you call back to the US a lot, there may be a better vendor for you.
