Caen Memorial Museum

We are travelling by train from Paris to Bayeux. Would like to stop in Caen to see this museum before continuing to our hotel in Bayeux. For those that have been there or may know, we will have carry-on travel bags and was wondering if they have any type of storage for this while we are in the museum.

No personal experience, but on their website they indicate they have a "vestiaire gratuit" which I think would be a cloakroom where you could check coats, backpacks, small bags, etc.

You could email a question to [email protected] .

Well you could leave bags in Caen's train station if they have left-luggage and then not have to Schlepp the few miles out to the museum. Not all stations in France have consignes as they call them but main ones do and Caen may or may not.

Just a thought.

Most museums in Europe IME require you to check any large bag at the front desk - usually free with a gratuity perhaps of some small coins but not expected or necessary!

There is no consigne in the Caen train station. Practical information about every rail station in France is available on the gares-en-mouvement websites. And I would contact the museum regarding the vestiaire. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they didn't allow "luggage," as opposed to clothing or small bags/backpacks.
