buying lingerie

Just wondering about buying good lingerie at great prices in europe.

Does anyone know of any "Factory Outlet" type places or places that sell last season's items?

Any recommendation would help.

Thanks.

Brownie: If you would give us an idea abouth which cities you are thinking, it would be ways easier to answer.
Anyway, most department stores here have a very good and large choice of lingerie.
One of the most expensive brands is "La Perla" and its second line "Malizia" (somewhat cheaper). They are worth every penny. The French brand "Aubade" is fine as well.
If you name the cities you will be visiting, you will most likely get anwers re outlets. However, lingerie is rather difficult to find in those. If you're travelling at the right moment, you might find bargains on sales in almost every place.

Hi Ursula,

Thanks for your reply. I actually live in Europe - switzerland. And am always on the lookout for good stuff during sales. Unfortunately, Switzerland like some other european countries, ony have sales twice a year.

But what I was after was if anyone knew a good place that specialises in out-of-season items of overstocked items. We get that heaps in Australia (being an aussie) and so from there ... with having lots of lingerie made in europe... you'd think there might be a place of such.

So I thought I'd try my luck on this board.

Brownie:

OK, we need to narrow down even more. LOL

How funny you live here too. Where? If it's Zurich or Basel, I could show up with some ideas. However, with lingerie is a little difficult. Right now, I wouldn't know of any outlet in Zurich for lingerie. I usually wait until the sales which will start around June or so.
Oh, wait, there is "Stock Out" on Bleicherweg at Zurich-Enge. It's the outlet of the Grieder boutiques. They have a small stock of lingerie, but honestly, nothing to write about. But you can be lucky.
Hi Ursula

Wow... you live in der Schweiz too?

Well I live in "sunny" ol' Olten. So I am in between Basel and Zurich. I work in Bern but haven't heard of anything around here though at the moment Beldona in Bern are having a 50-70% off sale. Mainly on swimwear and some nightwear/corsets/teddies.
<BR

Brownie: How funny. Olten is quite nice, actually.
Do you happen to know the Covella boutique? Wow, great.
They DO have a second season shop with great stuff (Italian designers, mostly). But no lingerie, as far as I know.
Beldona is quite ok. All over Switzerland, incidentally.
In Berne, I do like Ciolina.

Ok, need to go. Have a nice and sunny weekend. Hope, the weather remains as it is. Just wonderful.
