Buonconvento

Any help with hotels and restaurants in Buonconvento. We are thinking og going the end of Oct. beginning of Nov. this year.Thanks Myra

Myra, That town is in a lovely area but not a good place to stay--the town is rather bland. I would stay a few miles south of there in San Quirico at the very nice www.palazzodelcapitano.com or stay in Montalcino.

We are staying just outside of that area and can't wait! I have found raves from several sources for Mario's restaurant in Buonconvento. Check out tuscany.net to find farmhouses in that region for lodging if you'll have a car.

Be sure to see Montalcino nearby and a visit to Sant'Antimo would be nice too. You are close to Siena and Pienza too. The countryside around Buonconvento is spectacular, especially near Asciano.
