From the Gellert Hotel, walk directly across the Freedom Bridge. The market will be on your right side after you cross the bridge. It looks like an old train terminal. This is the market that sells primarily food and handmade items, lots of linens.

Yes, its an easy 5 minute stroll across the Szabadszag Hid (Liberty / Freedom bridge)from the Gellert. The market is know as the Nagycsarnok in Hungarian and has been going strong for more than a century. The gallery has lots of handcraft & nik nak stalls as well as some fast food outlets, Hungarian style. Try the Langos, its very good. The groung floor is full of fabulous produce that puts a supermarket to shame. The basement has fish and pickle stalls as well as a Match Szupermarket
