Brussels in February
I will be in Brussels in mid-February and was wondering just how cold/wet it might be at that time. I have tried to run a search on underground weather web site but Brussels weather history is not archived. Would appreciate any tid-bits.

Brussels is justly famous for its rain, and it's nippy. Warm coat, rain gear (umbrella or make the coat a trenchcoat with zip-in lining) and gloves. The weather doesn't matter an iota when you can eat buckets of moules and frites and drink steins of truly wonderful beer.

We were in Brussels in mid February last year and the year before on the Sabena Valentines Weekend special. Karen, even though it was cold, rainy, and generally awful weather, we had a wonderful time: one day spent all around the Grand Place, enjoying hot coffees in cafes, the Galleria, and then the train to Bruges the next day, enjoying all of it.

We made it an adventure in spite of the weather . . .

Going to Hilton Head instead this year.

And, am I the Donna to whom Falcon was referring? Gosh! I think there is another Donna who is much more knowledgable than I am.
Go, girls.

The weather here in Belgium is very unpredictable. The last days for instance we have cold and sunny weather, around 0°C (32°F) during the day and from -4 to -10 at night. Forecast for the weekend is around 10°C during the day but very wet and windy.
You better pack something for rainy weather as well as for cold weather.

You are quite right, I have been told that Brussels is very cold and wet but i did not know they served mussels in buckets though. The most famous thing to watch out for is the giant statue of a male who needs to go to the toilet.....!
.
BTW, Donna "Donna Elvira" is in a famous opera: Don Giovanny by Bach......(I think)

Falcon,
The giant statue you mention is in fact only a small one and it is called "Manneke Pis".
Mussels are usually served in black pans at the rate of at least 1 kilo per person. Nowadays one can eat mussels the year around but the best period to eat them is during the months with an "r" (JanuaRy, FebruaRy, etc.)
This is just a little background information.
