Bruges historical tour/ww1 focus

Hello! I'll be in Bruges for 4 nights in April, enjoying and exploring the city but also doing research for a book that takes place there during WW1. Does anyone know of a tour there, or even a tour guide (private) that they could recommend, who really knows life in the city during that time? I will be there with my husband and son, so it would be the three of us.

Thank you!

I also spent 4-5 days in Bruges and then had a Private Guide ( from Brussels) to do the WWI Tours

This tour can start in Diksmuide ( which at about 30 miles est of Bruges.)

From here you will drive visiting many WWI cemeteries until you come to Flanders Filed , just outside of Ypres.

In Ypres you want to be sure you get to the Menin Gate start about 7 PM for the PM playing of the Last Outpost

From Ypres you head further south seeing many more major cemeteries until you get to the Mesen Cemetery.

I had a Private guide because I did not want to rent a car and drive and follow a map.

I would much rather enjoy the drive and scenery and the guide knew where all the places I wanted to see were.

Wishing you a Very Joyful and Happy Trip

Are you specifically interested in the WWI experience in Brugge - or the war in Belgium in general? If you specifically want info re the city you might want to check out/contact some local guides from Tours by Locals https://www.toursbylocals.com/Bruges...E&gclsrc=aw.ds Their bios and contact information is included

. . . Or e-mail the local tourist information office for info re specialist tours/guides. https://www.visitbruges.be/en
