My seven worst - in no particular order...<BR><BR>1. Cumbernauld. Any town with "What's it called?" as its advertising slogan has a serious problem...<BR><BR>2. Any road in London when you're in a car.<BR><BR>3. Kings Cross and Euston Stations. Prime examples of 1960s/70s architecture at their worst.<BR><BR>4. Glasgow after an Old Firm match.<BR><BR>5. The Birmingham Bullring - now happily demolished.<BR><BR>6. The Jubilee line on the Tube. About as reliable as a Trabant.<BR><BR>7. The Eurostar from London to the Tunnel. Takes about as long to go from Calais to Paris as from London to the tunnel.

Depends what's meant by the worst:<BR><BR>eg 7 most pikey places:<BR><BR>1) Arsenal<BR>2) Skegness<BR>3) Brighton<BR>4) Argos (anywhere; Ditto LIDL Netto etc)<BR>5) The National Express Station in Victoria <BR>6) Mr Byrite<BR>7) The North (all of it)<BR><BR>it would be different if one were looking for minging, munting or downright pov.

Actually, I liked Coventry. I think the way they built the new cathedral (not to my taste) next to the bombed out and very scenic old one was brilliant. There is also a very old and pretty alms house close by. I do vote that Picadilly Circus is awful.

If that is what you meant, I find this very difficult to comprehend, maybe you would like to explain yourself.

Not the north surely! That's the Peak District, the Lake District, the Yorkshire Moors - the most beautiful areas in Britain. We do have some grotty towns up here - "structurally improved" during the 70s and 80s.<BR>My vote goes to Oxford Circus (all tube exits) Oxford St and Piccadilly Circus.
