Bratislava to Cesky Krumlov

Between our stays in Bratislava and Prague we'd like to visit Cesky Krumlov, but there doesn't seem to be an easy to get there from Bratislava. I'm seeing more transp options from Prague to CK, but what a waste to backtrack from Prague. Any suggestions?

Go to www.idos.cz for the schedules Bratislava-CK trips by both train and bus (plus combinations of the two). It looks like any trip will have from two to five connections, and only a few will take less time than going from Bratislava to Prague and then on to CK.

The best bet appears to be the bus leaving Bratislava at getting to CK at 5:20. However, that depends upon your making a five minute connection in Ceske Budojovice; otherwise arrival time is 6:15.

Good luck.

Sorry-- that should read "the bus leaving Bratislava at 10:40 and getting to CK at 5:20."

By the way, I think the only change you have to make on that bus is the one at Ceske Budojovice.

Interested in Bratislava restaurants or other recommendations? My spouse and/or I were there in February and again in May. For info (I just cannot remember restaurants without checking brochures etc) contact us at [email protected]

Have you looked into renting a car?

Driving might be an option. Looks like the most logical route would be through Vienna & Linz--has anyone done this drive? What are the roads like?
