Happy new year to you all, and I'm looking forward to seeing you at the get-together.

Mimi, it's good to see you back in the swing. Hope you're feeling completely better soon.

Ok, I know this is the Europe board but I look forward to seeing Bob and some of the others from the Asian Board. Jeane and I look forward to meeting everyone (weather permitting) in Cambridge. PS, we have spent a lot of time in Europe but not recently.

Do we have an approximate head count? A pal of mine is also thinking of flying in.

Thanks,

well.. what's keeping everyone away from this great city?

one of,if not THE largest, most extensive historic disricts

where the america's cup will be held...

and where the FALLAS festivities are...
( the week before and including march 19)
and where santiago calatrava has earned his and his future generations' retirement (our mayoress must be in love with this guy... it just never stops)

- and where we could have a great GTG!

come on over. you won't be disappointed.

p.s. inexpensive airfare from valencia to brussels, london, berlin, sevilla, paris and soon manchester, dublin.. and who knows where else!

Mimi, I like your first answer better. Couldn't find the time anywhere in this thread though; my reading skills must be slipping.

Lincasanova, I have a very vivid memory of the 24 hours I spent in Valencia in July, 1972. After midnight there was a parade of flowered floats, then amazing fireworks so bright it looked like daylight. Families with young children milling about at 2:00 AM. Does this festival still exist?
