BOSTON GTG 2008*

BOSTON GTG, 2008

Its that time again when we need to get a count
as to who is coming and what your interests
might be.

The GTG will be held Saturday October 11,
2009 at the Le Meridien Hotel (formerly
the Hotel @ MIT); 20 Sidney Street;
Cambridge, MA.

We will gather at about 11AM in the rear of
the restaurant. It was called Sidney’s Grill.

Lunch will be served about 1PM. The cost
of the lunch will be $22.00 per person, all inclusive, except
for alcohol drinks and extras you might order.

We will host a dinner the nite before for anyone
who wishes to attend. The menu will be Italian
and we expect to dine at Bistro 5 in West Medford.
This is yet to be confirmed however. This is subject
to change however. We need to test it first.

On Saturday nite, Andy has again reserved the
Similan Thai Restaurant on First Street, Cambridge.
We will gather there at 7PM. We will split the bill
as we have done in the past.

Today I request that each of you indicate to me
here or via e-mail ([email protected]) your
intentions. I would need to know how many people
will attend EACH of the 3 meals. How many for lunch,
how many for dinner Friday, and how many for dinner
Saturday.???? Also include your screen name on fodors,
your full name, and your email address.

Thanks and we look forward to seeing you again
or for the first time.

Bob (rhkkmk) and Andy (gpanda)

Given that this is the Europe forum can I assume you mean Boston in Lincolnshire?

It has the best fish and chip shop in Britain you know.

Actually, the Boston gathering will be in Cambridge. Make of that what you will.

Wouldn't it be easier to have it in New York? Only 12 miles away from Boston. Just by the RAF base.

If you guys would show up, I'd go to a get-together in Dogdyke Lane.

Bob-thanks so much for extending the invitation to those here on the Europe board.

For those who don't know, the "Boston GTG" is an annual event which is made of of a big group of Fodorites, primarily from the Asia Board.
We had a similar event here in Los Angeles with some of the same folks and it was quite fun.

CW, no Cambridge is not miles apart. I can walk with Pastis, from my home in Cambridge across the bridge in 15 minutes to my previous apartment on Newbury St in the Back Bay of Boston.

NY ..12 miles? chuckle, chuckle!!

So why are they going to Lincolnshire? I know that's where the pilgrim fathers came from, but it seems a long way to go for a beer and a look at the Boston Stump.

Grantham is just up the road - which is the British equivelent of Bethlehem.

They must be shaking their heads in an attempt to loosen up their funny bones so as not to miss any more of the fun we have over here !
