I thought you could still be infectious even if you've had the vaccine (you're just less likely to have symptoms). I'd love to hear an update if more information has come to light about that. There is so much we're learning every week about the coronavirus vaccines.

Thank you folks for the current updates. We haven't booked flights yet but we do have our lodgings (private apartments ) selected. The original plans to fly to Sarajevo fell thru as the flight is no longer avail. But better flight for us from Boston. To Amsterdam then Split, great price...perfect times. So now it looks like Split to Mostar (3 nights) then to Trebinje (5 nights), to Makarska, Croatia (4 nights) and then Rogoznika for 3 nights. Return flight from Split.
We both have the two shots. But need to secure a negative test prior to our return to Boston. But that could change as the science seems to change daily. Either way looking forward to a great May/early June trip to Croatia/Bosnia.

Governments do what governments do, but why would any government open their borders to vaccinated tourists and then later say those same vaccinated tourists are not welcome? If you have been vaccinated, then 2 weeks later one is fully protected. That does not change. It is time for people to start preparing for this one year of hell to be over...not finding reasons to keep extending it.

rialtogrl: Yes of course, that was my point. But rather than celebrating that the US will be fully vaccinated by the end of June and that other countries like the UK are also doing very well on their vaccination programs, some people act like they want this to go on for years and years. To those people I say stop looking for reasons to be afraid. Stop thinking that you can still spread a virus that you are fully vaccinated against. There is no science of that and even Fauci doesn’t say that. Start preparing for life being back to normal and if you don’t want back to normal, then stay out of the way of us who have done our part for society, gotten vaccinated and are getting on with living.

MinnBeef I agree, problem is many who want to be vaccinated cannot get vaccines. So I think it’s fair for people who have been vaccinated to worry a bit they still might spread it. Once the EU starts really ramping up the vaccines, I’ll start preparing for life back to normal. I cannot wait for that day to come.

Educated people around the world have been waiting on the results of scientific study to see whether vaccinated asymptomatic people can still be infectious. Until we know the answer to that or people at my destination have had the opportunity to be vaccinated, then I am unable to put my love of travel ahead of other people's well being. Like everyone, I desperately want this virus to be able to be managed and would love to travel more than anything.
