Bordeaux in early October?
someone just put a bug in my ear. not saying this is a definite, since plans for Rome this fall have already started gearing up, however, another friend is asking if we'd like to come along on this trip with them. it sounds fabulous. it may push Rome back to the Spring, we'll just have to see. depends on the opinion of all parties involved... hmmm, full trip plot mode is gearing into motion... ack!
at any rate, any tips for Bordeaux in early October? these parts, early October is one of the nicest months, weather wise. what might I expect in Bordeaux? We'd leave October 1 and come back October 10.
mua ha ha ha. I love plotting. even if we don't change our original plans, this is still fun to think about.

One chateau that accomodate visitors without appointment is the american owned Chateau Prieure Lichine in Margaux. The first & second growth chateau (or other famous chateau)need a wine merchant connection to obtain an appointment. Chateau Beychevelle is a nice beautiful chateau producing so-so wine thus easier to get appointments by correspondence. Bordeaux itself is a nice comfortable town to visit, but St Emilion is the jewel.

Girl that is one heck of a stream of consciousness and I'm still left wondering what "this trip" to Bordeaux actually is!

We're going to be arriving just as you leave I think but if you end up there a day or two extra will see you then, chica!
Have fun plotting!

Sweetie, the fact that it isn't my trip you've been invited on was never in doubt since I hadn't invited anyone on that trip and the dates don't match anyway!!!!
I was just wondering what the trip actually was that sounds fabulous, is there an itinerary? it is self drive or a tour? is accommodation already arranged?

Hope it works out for you!
