Booking Hotels in Rome online
We are going to be in Rome this May and I am holding a reservation through a travel agent at the Eliose Hotel(have never stayed there so not really sure how it is-not much luck finding it in tour books), but have found a site called venere.com from which you can reserve hotels in Italy and am interested in one in particular..La Residenza. Has anyone used venere.com to book; am a little leery since I am unfamiliar with this site and it requests a credit card in order to hold the room-it says no charges will be made.
Also would appreciate any comments on the Eliose Hotel..by the Borghese Gardens. Thanks.

I haven't used venere.com but many others on the board have. It seems to have a good reputation. You could probably do a search in the window above and find a lot of answers to your question.
We always book online and have never had a problem.
Good luck.

Hi wally,
www.venere.com is a reputable firm. I have used them.
If you are concerned about sending CC info by emiail, send it in two messages: one with 1/2 the number and one with the other 1/2 and the exp date.
You can look up reviews of the hotels in which you are interested at www.tripadvisor.com.
Have a great trip.

I liked venere.com the best because it was so easy to search for a quad room for our family. We made most of our Italy hotel reservations through this site and it worked great for us. I don't think you have to give a credit card number via email. As I recall, they have a secure website.
