Book your concert seats ahead
We were planning to attend the Maggiore Musicale festival in Florence in about 30 days (the Zubin Mehta concert) and just discovered that all the tickets are SOLD OUT!!
Of course, there are always the church concerts peddled by flyer in the tourist zones, but if you want to hear the really good stuff... just a reminder that getting your seats ASAP is the way to go.

I agree. It is kind of hard to navigate some of the websites, even if they are translated into English. If you can't get the seats, sometimes it's hard to know if the seats aren't on sale yet, if it's sold out, or if you're just not working the site correctly.

That's true. I first tried via internet and got a message that appeared to say no tickets were available. I then immediately telephoned them hoping it was just a website or language thing. The ticket office confirmed that they were indeed sold out.

I can't hold out much hope for you getting to the Zubin Mehta concert, but when I wanted to get a La Fenice ticket at first I could not get any. Then once I checked at 3 AM in the morning, and lo and behold a seat had appeared. I don't know if people return their tickets or what. So it wouldn't hurt to keep checking.
