We plan to take the bus from Oxford to visit the Palace. How long of a walk is it from the gate to the entrance?

The grounds are very large. Unless the bus stop has moved, it is a bit up the road from the entrance so all in from the bus stop to the entrance gate to the ticket window is maybe a 15 minute walk.

You can see it on google street view. The bus stop is on main road and about 1/2 mile walk to the "edge" of the palace complex. However, the palace and the beautifully maintained grounds are ginormous. Consequently, after you have visited the Palace, the final walk to the bus stop feels like you are crossing the Sahara desert on a hot day.

Or worse if it is pouring down w/ rain.
