It depends on the type of fabric. Some blacks are lint magnets, others are just fine. I usually go with a knit fabric that doesn't have the problem.

This is a fun thread!

I basically take black when I am on trips as black doesn't show a spot like other colors..you know..that dribble of wine. I wear a lot of black at home during autumn and winter. I have never ever had a problem with lint regardless of the fabric. Now I probably will since I have said I never have, lol. I have a good clothes brush with a velcro type of coating on the other side which has worked well if I have gotten cat or dog hairs on my clothes when visiting someone with a pet. I always pack that brush in my luggge but hardly ever use it. Anyway, wishing you a lint free trip Lanejohann!

I thought of this thread yesterday when I was wearing black capris and noticed that one side of one leg was completely dog haired. I remembered that Bandit swept by me as I was leaving the house, that is all it took. I wet my hands in the ladies room and took most of it off.

hey Tod there sounds like there's real grey- haired wisdom in your advice ( and im not suggesting that youre grey- haired, just wise from experience!)
thank you
i have never been to south africa and it is one accent i cant mimic!

lint has been on my mind - maybe it's getting inside my brain- so i bought a microfibre cloth today

LoveItaly - i too own one of those velour brushes but it doesn't work on the fabrics i have
i think it is because there is some elastane in the pants- they fit like a glove and i guess thats the price im paying
i should've stuck to black denim but i thought these looked dressier

maybe i will be lucky again and get that special search done at the airport - like i always seem to- maybe when the security officer runs that special thingamebob over me ill ask him to see if he get can the lint off while he's at it!

oh SeaUrchin - thats a terrible experience LOL - have see OH walk out with furry pants too and i have had to do my best to de-fur him while hes rushing off
i wonder what the dry cleaners use?
i dont go to dry cleaners all that often but i must pop in and ask them

Well, here I was, happily reading this post, laughing out loud and feeling very smug as I wear lots of black and don't have a problem with lint - we Aussie's don't you know....

Anyway, then I got to the the Leely2's about poor eyesight and freaked out. perhaps I am permanently covered in lint and just don't know it - God knows my eye sight is a problem these days!!

What should I do, start de-linting my black clothes just in case, or toddle off to the optometrist for a new prescription??

Baltic peoples are generally very, very clothes conscious. You can find lint rollers at any of the bigger shopping centers. In Tallinn- Kaubamaja or Stockmann's.

I live in black clothes here in Chicago and when I travel. My travel trick is to take a stack of the clear envelopes that you use for the labels to send FedEx-type packages. You stick your hand in the opening, pull off the paper, and - voila! - a nice de-lint "mitt" with a large surface. It's super lightweight and works really well.
