Bilbao and/or San Sebastian: Pelota Vasca or jai alai, where?
We'll be in the Basque area next month and I'm dying to watch this sport, also known as jai alai, which I have played a bit of when I was younger.
Anybody with suggestions on where I can catch an organized game in the Bilbao and/or San Sebastian area?
Thanks.

check on "Cartelera" on www.manista.com (only in Spanish) for the game calendar. Or in www.asegarce.com. Take into account that there are many kinds of pelota vasca (hand, pala, raqueta, cesta punta,...). Jai-Alai (literally, Happy Game) is normally associated to cesta punta.

In Markina, near Bilbao, you will find the best frontón to watch cesta punta, it is known as the "University of Jai Alai".
But the king is pelota mano (hand ball), there are several exciting tournaments going on right now.
