Beware of Paris Vision !!!
I have recently returned from a wonderful trip to London and Paris. The only thing that ruined it for us was Paris Vision. We booked a cruise down the River Seine on the 8:45 cruise. First the boat was crowded, hot and not at all fun. Second, the bus was suppose to pick us up after the cruise, but after we walked up to see if we wanted to buy our picture taken on the boat (it was very crowded and we had to stand in line to see the picture), by the time we started toward the bus, it was pulling away and we could not catch it! We had to take a taxi back to our hotel. We left early the next morning to come home and I have e-mailed Paris Vision 4 times to ask for a partial refund or at least an apology. They won't even respond to my e-mail! That is a poor way to do business. The cruise was not worth the money in any way! Don't even bother to book it!

Betty,

I used Paris Vision twice in the past and have only good things to say about them. I have been on two seine cruises-one during the day and one at night. How you cannot enjoy the cruise is unbelievable to me.

When you take a bus tour it is your responsibility to be back on the bus on time - not theirs to wait for you. It sounds to me that you unrealistic expectations!!

First of all, you should not have to run to your bus - as I stated the boat was very very crowded and it took a few mintues to get off! Then we just followed to crowd to look at the picture (didn't even wait to purchase it). The entire time we finally got off the boat and the bus left couldn't have been over 5-6 minutes! I don't call that "waiting for us"! Second you could not enjoy that cruise. The boat was hot and so crowded that we had to sit in the middle area and could not see anything on either side! You call that a nice cruise?? Please! I don't call that unrealistic! Do YOU??

Betty,

Did you sit downstairs or upstairs? Even if you sat downstairs you can walk up the steps and go outside if you were warm. I know the middle rows and on the cruise you are told well in advance what sites are coming up so you can adjust - also, you can stand up - there is no law stating that you must stay in your seat. In the future maybe you need to hire your own boat and see what you want to see and when to see it. This all part of traveling.

You must not know this cruise very well, because there was not a upstairs and downstairs! It was all on one level and there was glass side and tops. A cruise where you have to stand up to see things? You haven't been on very many cruises have you? I just wanted a nice cool cruise at night and this is not what we got. It cost 64 Euro - and not worth 4!

Betty:

Was this just a cruise, was it a dinner cruise or was it a Parisvision Paris night tour. I know of one tour that includes dinner at the Eiffel Tower restaurant followed by the cruise followed by a drive through Paris at night.....

The cruise itself costs 8.50 Euro...I've taken that cruise. what the tour company does is gives you a ticket and splits the difference with the cruise operator. They, of course, have no control as to just how many people will be taking that cruise.

As with many other things, you can do it yourself for cheaper......I am surprised that Parisvision left you but as I understand the way it works is they combine several different tours for that final drive through Paris (Paris illuminations) and the couriers have no idea of just how many people should be on the bus.

Not making excuses for them but there are 2 sides to every story....

I love these "Beware" posts. Probably trolls, though. The fact that "Betty" had to hire a taxi "ruined" her wonderful trip. That, my friends, is thin skin. Oh, yes, the boat was crowded (on a tour, never! and "not at all fun"). I suspect most of the complainers that post "beware" or "avoid" posts on this forum wouldn't know fun if it bit them. If Betty is real, her concern may be valid, but her reaction is a bit over the top.

Betty,

Just to let you know there are many different cruise boats on the Seine. As a matter of fact one of them did, in fact, have a lower level and the other Seine cruise did not. When you take a tour expect other people. That is what traveling is all about. Boy, if I complained every time I was inconvenienced I could write a book. You have to keep your perspective and if that could ruin a whole trip, then maybe you should just stay home.

We were cruising down the Seine only 3 nights ago and it was wonderful. We were on the Batteau Mouche and sat on the top level where the view was great and the temps quite comfortable. There are several different cruises you can book and it's just a matter of picking which one is right for you. I'd recommend this one anytime. It was one of the highlights of our trip.
