best way to travel: LA > Sicily > Mykonos
Hello!
I'm planning a trip from Los Angeles to Sicily to Mykonos (and possibly one more island) and then back to LA (home). Looking at mid October.
I'd love to know the most efficient way (both time and budget) to visit these destinations. I'm open to traveling to either Sicily first, or vice-versa.
Also wondering which airline is best - has the best deals. I mostly fly Delta, but
Any advice is much appreciated!
Thanks!

www.whichbudget.com and www.skyscanner.com may clue you in on lots of flights between any two airports - including say Sicily to Mykonos.
Delos - an island with just an archeological site on it lies smack dab off Mykonos- I thought it was awesome:

Fly back home Mykonos-Athens-U.S.

Mykonos in late October makes no sense.....
Most restaurants, cafes and shops will be closed as it will be the end of the season, and weather won't be warm enough for swimming.
You may want to spend your entire time in Sicily, or maybe go to Mainland Greece instead of Mykonos.

A few comments -
1. Alitalia should still be around in October so the best flight for you would probably be the LAX-FCO non-stop flight.
2. Alitalia is part of the same airline grouping as Delta so if you have enough Delta points you may be able to upgrade.
3. I suggest using Kayak which has a function which shows flights over multiple days which can highlight when the cheapest flights are.
4. Most flights to Mykonos are seasonal and October is off season. You would have to connect via Athens.
5. Many hotels and restaurants will already be closed in October but if you want a quieter experience with just the locals then it could be ok.
6. There are far fewer ferry services operating in October.
7. Depending upon what water temperatures you are used to you can still swim early October both in Mykonos and Sicily.
8. Although Sicily is a popular tourist destination life goes on all around the year.
9. Rather than Mykonos have you considered visiting Malta?
