Best way to get from the airport in Venice to our hotel

We're staying at the Hotel Savoia and Jolanda in Venice for our honeymoon....we'll be flying into the airport and I need to begin thinking about transportation from the airport to the hotel. I know there is a vaporetto stop nearby, but is that the best way to go? Where do you pick up the vaporetto from the airport? Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Stacey

Hi S,

To get from the airport to Venice,

1. Bus to Piazzale Roma. Walk to vaporetto stop - 2 blks

2. Alilaguna shuttle boat
See http://www.alilaguna.it/ for routes

3. Water taxi - about 85E for the boat

Hi Stacey

The airport vaporetto stop is just a short walk along the sidewalk to the side of the airport. You can't miss it.

At the same dock (or nearby) is the Alilaguna. This is an airport shuttle service that stops at a few key locations in the city. More expensive than the vaporetto, but not much more, and its a lot faster.

Either would be fine. Water taxi is cool, but way expensive. The land bus to Piazalle Roma is cheapest, but there is no romance at all to it.

Your hotel is right by San Marco
so take the 10 Euro p p
Alilaguna shuttle boat .

When you exit w/your luggage,
hang a left & buy our tickets, walk out front of bldg & free shuttle bus will
transport you around to the
Alilaguna.
The best way to see Venice for the
first time is by water.

Water taxi is without a doubt the best way--the most expensive, too. Fastest, easiest, and gets you closer to your hotel than any other transport--right to your hotel if it's on an accessible canal.
