Best way to get from Delphi to Corinth area?

Hi all!
Am planning our honeymoon and currently, we are planning on flying into Athens and then driving to Delphi and from there, making our way to Corinth, Mycenae and Nafplion. We're wondering what the best way is for us to get from Delphi to the Corinth w/out having to trek back to Athens. Any ideas??

Thanks!!

there seems to be a ferry service from Agios Nikolaos to Aigio. From Delphi you get to Itea and then drive west (towards Naupaktos. Agios Nikolaos is approximately 35 Km from Itea. From Aigio you head towards Athens. Korinth is an hour's drive from Aigio.

Indeed there is a car ferry. We did this several years ago. We could not find a lot of information about the ferry, but we drove to the correct town and there was the ferry leaving in 15 minutes. It was not a big ferry and we did not have reservations, but this was in April. It is very convientent. Staying is Delphi is nice, but we stayed over night in Navpaktos which is a charming village on the bay. I have heard that the village of Galaxidhion, also on the bay, is very charming. We have fond memories of Navpaktos, as we stayed in an older hotel across from the harbor. We were the only guests and when we went to go to dinner at around 9:00p.m. the key was in the door. We assumed that we should take the key and lock the door on way to dinner and then let ourselves in. The restraurant was packed with locals and children and the waitress spoke perfect English, which made our meal more delicious. I just looked in one of my travel books and it states the town with the ferry is Andirrion and the ferries leave every 15 to 30 minutes. Have a wonderful time.

Sue is almost right with the exception of one thing; The Andirrion -Rion ferry and the Agios Nikolaos-Aigio ferry are two different routes. The andirrion ferry runs 18 hours a day around the year on a regular basis. Ferrys run every 20-30 minutes and the journey is approximately 15- 20 minutes. there is no need for reservations (nor the possibility) since it works on drive in - cross the andirrion straights -drive out basis. At present a bridge is under construction which from 2006 will abolish the ferry service. On the other hand the Agios Nikolaos -Aigio ferry run 4-5 times a day, is not on a major route and the journey lasts 75 minutes. For schedules and timetable, you'd rather contact the Aigio port authority (tel. +30 -6910-28888) At the end of the day, if you choose to travel via Andirrio you'll have absolutely no problems catching a ferry (provided that local weather permits it) but must be prepared to drive 2 hours more.

Sharon: Just a suggestion. I assume you'll be returning your rental car to Athens? If so you will be passing thru Corinth on your return.
From Delphi do the ferry crossing and go to (ancient) Olympia, visit the ruins/museum that PM or the next AM and spent the night. Then from Olympia head over to Nafplion, there is some beautiful mountain scenery along that route. Regards, Walter
