Hi, what are the must see route(s) at Plitvice Lakes? We will be visting the park on July 11. I am a travel writer and need to get the best pictures possible. The previous night we are staying in Poljanak. So we also need to choose the right entrance.
Keep in mind that we can't stay the whole day - we have to drop off the rental car in Split before 8 am.

IMO, the best route is to make a single, long loop through the park -- something on the order of 6 hours or more (including time for the boat that connects the lower and upper lakes), and by all means, start at the lowest part of the park -- nearest Veliki Slap (I think that's entrance # 1) -- so that you are facing the falls as you proceed.
